Description
NBLACK is a neighborhood characteristic which reports the ratio of the Black population to the total population for the neighborhood (Black population / total population). The ratio ranges from .00 to .99 (decimal implied) with values rounded to the nearest decimal place.
This variable is only available for the 1970 Neighborhood Samples (U.S. and Puerto Rico). NBLACK is a 2-digit numeric variable which reports the ratio of the Black population to the total population for the neighborhood (Black population / total population). The ratio ranges from .00 to .99 (two decimals implied) with values rounded to the nearest decimal place. NBLACK specific variable codes for missing, edited, or unidentified observations, observations not applicable (N/A), observations not in universe (NIU), top and bottom value coding, etc. are provided below by Census year (and data sample if specified).
