Description
NHEAT is a neighborhood characteristic which reports the ratio of the number of units with steam or hot water; central warm-air furnace; built-in electric units; and floor, wall, or pipe-less furnace to the total number of year round units for the neighborhood (units with steam or hot water; central warm-air furnace; built-in electric units; and floor, wall, or pipe-less furnace / total units - year round). The ratio ranges from .00 to .99 (decimal implied) with values rounded to the nearest decimal place.
This variable is only available for the 1970 U.S. Neighborhood Samples. NHEAT is a 2-digit numeric variable which reports the ratio of the number of units with steam or hot water; central warm-air furnace; built-in electric units; and floor, wall, or pipe-less furnace to the total number of year round units for the neighborhood (units with steam or hot water; central warm-air furnace; built-in electric units; and floor, wall, or pipe-less furnace / total units - year round). The ratio ranges from .00 to .99 (two decimals implied) with values rounded to the nearest decimal place.
