Relationship Between 2000, 2005 and 2006 PUMAs
and Super-PUMAs of Work and 2000 PUMAs and Super-PUMAs

This page presents the PUMAs and Super-PUMAs of Work for the 2000 samples and the 2005 and 2006 ACS (see PWPUMA00 and PWPUMAS for complete variable descriptions). In most cases, PUMAs and Super-PUMAs of Work are identical to PUMAs and Super-PUMAs. In some cases, however, multiple PUMAs or Super-PUMAs are combined to form one larger PUMA or Super-PUMA of Work. This page shows the relationship between each PUMA and Super-PUMA of Work and the corresponding PUMA(s) and Super-PUMA(s). In the 2005 and 2006 ACS, the lowest level of geography was the PUMA. The PUMA and Super-PUMA of work variable were constructed using the 2000 boundary definitions. Thus, the 2000, 2005 and 2006 PUMAs and Super-PUMAs of work are related to the 2000 PUMA and Super-PUMA geographical boundaries.
