Description
CONSTYPR identifies what type of construction materials were used to construct the housing unit. The response categories include different types of materials (e.g., concrete, wood, a mix of concrete and wood, or other). These materials were used in the construction of the foundation, walls and roof.
Codes
This variable is not available for any of the currently selected samples.
Comparability
This variable is completely comparable across years. The 1980 and 1990 Puerto Rican censuses include an additional response category, "mixed masonry and wood walls," (code "5"). In 1970 this level of detail would have been subsumed into the residual "other type of construction" (code "6") category.
Universe
- Not group quarters; available for Puerto Rico only.
