NCOLL is a neighborhood characteristic which reports the ratio of the number of persons 3 to 34 years old currently enrolled in college to the number of persons 18 to 21 years old in the neighborhood (population 3 to 34 years old enrolled in college / population 18 to 21 years old). The ratio ranges from .00 to .99 (decimal implied) with values rounded to the nearest decimal place.
This variable is only available for the 1970 Neighborhood Samples (U.S. and Puerto Rico). NCOLL is a 2-digit numeric variable which reports the ratio of the number of persons 3 to 34 years old currently enrolled in college to the number of persons 18 to 21 years old in the neighborhood (population 3 to 34 years old enrolled in college / population 18 to 21 years old). The ratio ranges from .00 to .99 (two decimals implied) with values rounded to the nearest decimal place.
