Description
SPMGEOADJ is used to adjust the Supplemental Poverty Measure (SPM) threshold (SPMTHRESH) for geographic differences in the cost of living.
The thresholds are adjusted using median gross rents for two-bedroom units from 5-year ACS data by metro/micropolitan statistical areas, metro areas of a state, and nonmetro areas of a state.

SPMGEOADJ is a 20-digit numeric variable that is used to adjust the Supplemental Poverty Measure (SPM) threshold (SPMTHRESH) for geographic differences in the cost of living.
