Description
SPMLUNCH is the imputed amount of school lunch subsidy, rounded to the nearest dollar, that an SPM Unit receives. There are no questions related to school lunch assistance on the ACS questionnaire, so the Census Bureau imputes that amount based on data from the Annual Social and Economic Supplement of the Current Population Survey (CPS ASEC). For detailed information about how the Census Bureau derives this measure, please refer to the Supplemental Poverty Measure using the American Community Survey working paper.
SPMLUNCH is used, along with other non-cash variables, to calculate SPMTOTRES.
