Description

MOBLOAN indicates whether any member of the household has an installment loan or contract on the mobile home. These payment plans are used if the mobile home is not permanently attached to the land and thus cannot be considered real estate and cannot be financed by a mortgage. The mobile home is the collateral for the loan, which is paid off by monthly payments. The total annual costs of owner-occupied mobile homes are in MOBLHOM2. A similar measure, MOBLHOME, is available for the 1990 U.S. census sample, the 2003-onward ACS samples, and the 2005-onward PRCS.
