Description
NNOWORK is a neighborhood characteristic which reports the ratio of persons age 16 to 21 years old who are not enrolled in school, unemployed, or not in the labor force to the total number of persons aged 16 and over not enrolled in school in the neighborhood (population 16 to 21 years old not enrolled in school, unemployed, or not in the labor force / population 16 to 21 years old not enrolled in school). The ratio ranges from .00 to .99 (decimal implied) with values rounded to the nearest decimal place.
This variable is only available for the 1970 Neighborhood Samples (U.S. and Puerto Rico). NNOWORK is a 2-digit numeric variable which reports the ratio of persons age 16 to 21 years old who are not enrolled in school, unemployed, or not in the labor force to the total number of persons aged 16 and over not enrolled in school in the neighborhood (population 16 to 21 years old not enrolled in school, unemployed, or not in the labor force / population 16 to 21 years old not enrolled in school). The ratio ranges from .00 to .99 (two decimals implied) with values rounded to the nearest decimal place.
