NPOP17 is a neighborhood characteristic which reports the ratio of the population 0-17 years old to the total population for the neighborhood (population 0-17 years old / total population). The ratio ranges from .00 to .99 (decimal implied) with values rounded to the nearest decimal place.

Codes

This variable is only available for the 1970 Neighborhood Samples (U.S. and Puerto Rico). NPOP17 is a 2-digit numeric variable which reports the ratio of the population 0-17 years old to the total population for the neighborhood (population 0-17 years old / total population). The ratio ranges from .00 to .99 (two decimals implied) with values rounded to the nearest decimal place.
