Description

NTOTROOM is a neighborhood characteristic which reports the ratio of total number of rooms in all units to the total number of year round units for the neighborhood (total number of rooms in all units / total units - year round). The ratio ranges from 0.0 to 9.9 (decimal implied) with values rounded to the nearest decimal place.

This variable is only available for the 1970 Neighborhood Samples (U.S. and Puerto Rico). NTOTROOM is a 2-digit numeric variable which reports the ratio of total number of rooms in all units to the total number of year round units for the neighborhood (total number of rooms in all units / total units - year round). The ratio ranges from 0.0 to 9.9 (one decimal implied) with values rounded to the nearest decimal place. NTOTROOM specific variable codes for missing, edited, or unidentified observations, observations not applicable (N/A), observations not in universe (NIU), top and bottom value coding, etc. are provided below by Census year (and data sample if specified).
