NUNITS1 is a neighborhood characteristic which reports the ratio of units in 1-unit structures to the total number of units (year round) for the neighborhood (units in 1-unit structures / total units - year round). The ratio ranges from .00 to .99 (decimal implied) with values rounded to the nearest decimal place.

This variable is only available for the 1970 Neighborhood Samples (U.S. and Puerto Rico). NUNITS1 is a 2-digit numeric variable which reports the ratio of units in 1-unit structures to the total number of units (year round) for the neighborhood (units in 1-unit structures / total units - year round). The ratio ranges from .00 to .99 (two decimals implied) with values rounded to the nearest decimal place.
