Description
NUMHHTAK reports how many households from the same dwelling that contained this household (including this household) are included in the sample. Only dwellings with 30 or fewer residents were sampled at the level of dwellings. Larger dwellings were sampled at the level of households or by taking related groups or individuals from large group quarters (see SAMPRULE). In the 1910 and 1920 Puerto Rican censuses, dwellings classified as solares, see SOLAR, were sampled with values recorded in NUMHHTAK.
Users can analyze multi-household dwellings (of fewer than 31 residents) by selecting households with NUMHHTAK greater than 1 and combining households that share the same first six digits in SERIAL.
