Description
QUTP2 is a quality flag associated with the assignment of GPS coordinates to households recorded in XGPS and YGPS.
QUTP2 indicates if the house number is missing from the address associated with the household. Where possible, location is inferred from the sequence of households on the census forms, but this is sometimes imperfect. This variable is only available for cases included in the Urban Transition Historical GIS Project.
The Urban Transition Historical GIS Project is directed by John Logan, Professor of Sociology at Brown University. The project uses historical census data to document the state of U.S. cities from the end of the 19th Century into the early 20th Century. Households in 39 cities are geocoded in 1880. More information is available on the project website.
