Description

Data quality flag for VETSTAT, VET47X50, VET55X64, VET75X80, VET80X90, VET90X95, VET90X01, VET01LTR, VETKOREA, VETOTHER, VETVIETN, VETWWI and VETWWII.

In 1950, VETSTAT was constructed using AGE and EMPSTAT. As a result, there is not a data quality flag for VETSTAT in 1950. In 1960, the allocation flag utilized for QVETSTAT related to two variables depending on sex of respondent: for females, this flag applies to the Children Ever Born (see QCHBORN and CHBORN); for males it applies to veteran status. 1980 responses of N/A on veteran status are separated out using AGE, EMPSTAT and periods of military service. Therefore researchers concerned with allocation flags in these years, may also want to refer to: QAGE, QEMPSTAT and QSEX.
