Description
In November 2010, the Census Bureau released revised data for several years of the ACS due to errors. As part of this release, MOVEDIN changed. We provide MOVEDINORIG so that users can analyze the differences in the revisions or replicate previous analyses. However, we recommend that users analyze the revised variable MOVEDIN in their research. For more information about this revision, please see the ACS website.
This variable is only available for the 2004 ACS/PRCS. MOVEDINORIG is a 1-digit numeric code reporting the number of years ago that each householder, moved into the dwelling unit (apartment, house, or mobile home). We provide the original codes in MOVEDINORIG so that users can analyze the differences in the revisions or replicate previous analyses. MOVEDINORIG specific variable codes for missing, edited, or unidentified observations, observations not applicable (N/A), observations not in universe (NIU), top and bottom value coding, etc. are provided below by Census year (and data sample if specified).
