Comparability

This variable is only available for 1970. The industrial classification system used in IND5YR is the same as that used for IND (current industry), except that the latter variable allocates the missing values into residual categories (e.g., "professional and related services - allocated") representing broad industrial groups. All missing values in IND5YR are given the same code (999, "Industry not reported").
