PREDHISP
Hispanic/Latino response predicted value

Description

PREDHISP is a dichotomous variable indicating whether a respondent in the 2000 census, 2010 census, or the ACS reported Hispanic origins. Respondents who reported Hispanic origins have a PREDHISP value of 1 regardless of their reported race. All non-Hispanic respondents have a PREDHISP value of 0.

For every person, the sum of PREDHISP, PREDAI, PREDAPI, PREDBLK, and PREDWHT is 1.0. The highest of these values determines the value of RACHSING. For an explanation of how these variables are calculated, see RACHSING.
