PROBWHT
Probability of white race response

Description

PROBWHT represents the predicted probability that a multiple-race part-white respondent in the 2000 census, the ACS or the PRCS would have reported only white race if asked for a single race response. This predicted probability has been multiplied by 100 for PROBWHT; users must divide PROBWHT by 100 before using it.

For an explanation of how the predicted probability was calculated, see RACESING.

Single-race whites have a value of 100 on PROBWHT; other single-race respondents have a value of 000. Hispanic 'other race' people and biracial white/'other race' people and also have a code of 100 on PROBWHT because of the bridging methodology explained in RACESING.
