PROBBLK
Probability of black race response

Description

PROBBLK represents the predicted probability that a multiple-race part-black respondent in the 2000 census, the ACS or the PRCS would have reported only black or African American race if asked for a single race response. This predicted probability has been multiplied by 100 for PROBBLK; users must divide PROBBLK by 100 before using it.

For an explanation of how the predicted probability was calculated, see RACESING.

Single-race blacks have a value of 100 on PROBBLK; other single-race respondents have a value of 000. Biracial black/'other race' people also have a code of 100 on PROBBLK because of the bridging methodology explained in RACESING.
