Case is linked to population census

Description
LINKPOP indicates whether the deceased person has been linked to a household in the corresponding population census of 1870 or 1880 (see HISTID).

Roughly half of cases are linked in 1870 and one third in 1880. The latter has fewer links because records transcribed from physician reports in that year cannot be connected to the population census. Lack of family numbers in 1850 and 1860 prevented linking to the population censuses in those years.
